Sixers center Joel Embiid has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the period between January 18-24. It is the fifth time in his career he has received the honor, the third most in Sixers history behind Allen Iverson (20) and Charles Barkley (6).

The Sixers were victorious in three games last week fueled by Embiid's dominance. The 26-year-old averaged 37.7 points on 61.1% shooting, including 44.4% from beyond the arc, and gabbed 11.7 rebounds. He also worked his way to the line 53 times in the three contests, and hit 43 (81.1%). The Sixers outscored their opposition by 41 points in his 98 minutes on the floor.

Embiid also became the first Sixer to tally three consecutive 33-point, 10-rebound performances since Wilt Chamberlain in 1967.
