Joel Embiid is among seven Sixers listed as questionable for their 3 p.m. game on Saturday against the Nuggets for possible exposure to COVID-19. He joins Danny Green, Tobias Harris, Shake Milton, Vincent Poirier, Paul Reed, and Matisse Thybulle.

During Thursday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets, starting shooting guard Seth Curry was informed that he tested positive for the virus. He was sidelined during the contest by a sore left ankle and sat courtside wearing a mask. Upon receiving his test result, he was immediately isolated in a separate room in the Barclays Center. Among those who had sat next to him were Embiid and assistant coach Sam Cassell.

After the game, the Sixers quarantined in a New York Hotel, and on Friday members of the team and associated personnel were subjected to two rounds of testing and contact tracing per the NBA's health and safety protocols, according to sources. The team must await results before determining how to proceed.

League protocol mandates that a player must either isolate for at least 10 days after an initial positive test or onset of symptoms, or he must produce two subsequent negative test results at least 24 hours apart via PCR testing. Players possibly exposed as determined by contact tracing are expected to be unavailable for at least seven days.

The Sixers were already shorthanded, as Furkan Korkmaz, Mike Scott, and Terrance Ferguson were previously ruled out due to injuries, and Curry is isolating. If all of the players listed are ineligible or incapable of playing, Philadelphia would not have the eight active players necessary to compete, forcing the NBA to postpone the game.
