Sixers head coach Doc Rivers provided injury updates Tuesday afternoon after practice.
Star center Joel Embiid, who has battled a sore back off and on throughout the season, 'looked fine, looked good'. The 7', 280-pound center missed the Sixers most recent game on Sunday, a thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Indiana Pacers. It was the team's first win without the Embiid after dropping their first four tries.
The news is much less positive regarding forward Mike Scott, who has missed eight straight games with right knee swelling.
'Mike (Scott), I would say I’d categorize that as a setback.' Rivers said. 'He was working out yesterday, got tangled up with someone and tweaked his knee again — not to where it was at. So that’s the only bad news so far.'
Scott previously missed five consecutive games after playing in the Sixers' first five. He returned for three games before this most recent stretch. In 8 games he has played in this season, he has averaged 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game. The 32-year-old struggled with his shot, slashing 31.8/25.0/66.7.
