Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Previously he had been listed probable, but less than two hours before tip-off, he was downgraded due to a tight calf. It is unclear who the Sixers will start in his place. Rookie Tyrese Maxey filled in for Simmons when he missed two games with knee soreness.

In 20 games this season, the two-time All-Star guard is averaging 13.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists.
